Hello! I’m honored that you would consider me to help you improve your relationship/marriage, and/or to work with you on some individual goals. Having been to counsellors and psychologists myself many times in the past (to keep myself healthy), I know how important it is to find a good fit with a counsellor, and to find someone to work with who is warm, trustworthy, kind, skilled, well-trained, and experienced. This is how my own clients describe me, and it has been a privilege to help many couples and individuals get more enjoyment out of their relationships and lives.
In addition to being skilled in Gottman couples therapy, I also have extensive training and experience in helping people work through mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, panic/phobias, PTSD, and trauma (in childhood or in adult life). I work hard to find a counselling approach that fits just for you, and am happy to include a variety of approaches (e.g., cognitive behavioral, family of origin issues, spiritual approaches, LGBT friendly approaches, existential issues, mindfulness work, etc.).
Couples who work with me tell me that I am able to help them communicate much better, have much less upsetting “fights” (or better ways of managing conflict), improve their appreciation and fondness of each other, and re-kindle what originally drew them to each other in the first place. They also state that my personality and approach is calm and reassuring, and that we can actually have some fun and share a few laughs during our work together!
